Pruning in Decision tree can be done by two ways,

1. Top-Down fashion: It starts from root and traverse down, trims subtree along the path
2. Bottom-Up fashion: It starts from leaf and goes up

Reduces Overfitting in a Decision Tree by trimming subtrees.
